However, other risk factors can, including obesity, tobacco use and hearing loss.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The <strong>controllable risk factor <\/strong>with the <strong>greatest effect is hearing loss, through hearing correction.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #80a30f;\"><strong>Minimize the impact by acting now<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Fortunately, people with hearing loss can minimize the impact on their day-to-day life and their health. The <strong>benefits of wearing hearing aids<\/strong> have been proven many times: <strong>better speech comprehension<\/strong>,<strong> better quality of life<\/strong>,<strong> less social isolation<\/strong>, among other things.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]A recent study looked at whether hearing correction (hearing aids or cochlear implants) has an effect on cognitive decline.
